A home that reflects Athens’ 1912 renaissance!
EMERALD hotel is housed in a beautiful neoclassical building in an ideal central location in Athens. This two-story mansion traditionally belonged to an aristocratic Athenian family. For quite some time, it remained unused and abandoned until it was transformed and finally found its place in the hotel industry of the capital. At the end of 2024, we were introduced to its selection of just five rooms, all of them suites. Although small in capacity, Emerald competes commendably with luxury hotels in terms of amenities, offering an elevated stay experience.
LOCATION
If you enjoy being where the heart of a city beats, Emerald hotel is the place you want to be. Conveniently located in the historic center of Athens, it is about halfway between Syntagma Square and the Monastiraki district. Literally close to everything: Syntagma, Plaka, Monastiraki, Psiri and of course the Acropolis, all within walking distance. In Syntagma, you will also find the nearest metro station. Right behind the hotel is the famous Ermou Street, the largest shopping pedestrian street in Athens. And as if that were not enough, the neighborhood is full of coffee bars and street food restaurants!
DESIGN
The epitome of boutique! Its fine aesthetics make an impression. Emerald is characterized by elegance and finesse, to the point where you think it is a private residence. Starting with the architecture, this is a gorgeous property. From the moment you enter it, it feels like travelling back in time, in the era of the interwar and the glamour of Athens. Just leave the noisy capital city outside the door and relax in the chic comfort that the emerald-colored details give off. The interior, from the bespoke furniture to the decorations, is ultra-elegant. The color palette, mainly pastel, is as distinctive as it is relaxing.
ROOMS
Every suite in EMERALD is an ode to minimalism. The high ceilings, characteristic of the neoclassical style, along with the special details make them beautifully appointed and aristocratic. Whereas they are double rooms, they are rather spacious. Four of them lie on the first floor, sharing a common color palette and materials. These are Aide Suite, Gaia Suite, Meleti Suite and Mneme Suite. Among them, one has a balcony -the only one. The fifth suite, the Ouranous, is quite different: more modern and extending over two levels. Particular attention has been paid to lighting, a field that is generally not so well considered. Each space has numerous lighting fixtures of various types, which make it even more unique and exceptional. A nice touch is the hidden televisions, too. You have to press the button on the remote control to make them appear from a special piece of furniture or behind the mirror! Also, the bathrooms are particularly luxurious and fully equipped with premium amenities.

BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served in Yphes restaurant, up to 11.00 AM. You will find an opulent à la carte menu, that goes beyond the typical hotel breakfast. You can even try it as brunch. Anyway, guests rate it as remarkably satisfying.
FOOD & DRINK
EMERALD's restaurant is named “Yphes.” It is situated directly behind the entrance of the hotel, on the ground floor, hidden in a little secret pedestrian street beside the premises, next to a tiny yard. You may feel like you are in a hidden oasis there that even locals ignore! Featuring its own separate entrance and clientele, it serves Mediterranean cuisine with Asian touches on a menu signed by a renowned chef. There, you can try a unique selection of dishes from around the world as well as a specially curated cocktail and wine list. In the morning, breakfast is served, whereas throughout the day, you can have brunch. After 16:00, you may enjoy the dinner menu or even a cocktail afterward inside its unparalleled warmth.

Since all suites are strictly double rooms, intended to host up to two people, this hidden gem is more suitable for couples who appreciate the combination of luxury and the privacy of a smaller accommodation. Sophisticated bon vivants with an eye for detail, as well as lovers of design and high aesthetics, will be truly pleased with this boutique city hotel in the heart of Athens.
