GATSBY ATHENS is named after the famous movie THE GREAT GATSBY. It is a mid-capacity hotel in the center of Athens. This is a 5-star accomodation, with equivalent quality services, where you will love to return, no matter how many times you visit. Especially if you like surprises! The very first one of them? GATSBY ATHENS is the most instagrammable spot in the capital. Certainly, one thing is for sure: GATSBY ATHENS is the opposite of boring!

LOCATION

GATSBY's location is literally two streets away from Syntagma square. Situated on Lekka Street, a small road in the center of Athens, GATSBY is the ideal springboard for those who want to experience the pulse of the Greek capital. Therefore, its guests are exactly where it all happens: just 350 meters from Syntagma Square, between the destricts of Monastiraki, Plaka, Omonia. But also next to Ermou str., the bustling pedestrian shopping street where you can find everything when it comes to purchases! Besides, the centre is full of vibrant coffee shops, restaurants and pastry shops, for you to taste all meditaranean flavors. In addition, all major sites are within walking distance: the Parliament, the National Garden, the Acropolis, all great museums.

DESIGN

This building used to house a former police station and its conversion into a hotel has been a very interesting project. Besides its name, it draws its aesthetics too from the homonymous film success. Thereupon, it is colorful but at the same time it is chic. This is also contributed by its specialmarble staircase, which harmoniously blends in with the space. Furthermore, in some parts of the rooms the mosaic floor has been preserved, a fact that perfectly marries the aesthetics of the '30s with the art deco details. The art collection of painting and photography, by Greek and International artists, in the hotel, has been curated by Yiannis Bournias. However, watch out for the seasonal changing of the decoration. GATSBY ATHENS alters its “attire” on Christmas, Valentine's Day and summer, a unique fact that makes the hotel stand out in every way.

ROOMSThe rooms of GATSBY ATHENS are classified into various types, and can accommodate from 2 to 3 people. All rooms are similar and there is always a welcome upon arrival. Accordingly all 33 rooms are exquisitely decorated, with taylor made furniture. Additionally, they are fully equipped with expensive and special amenities that exude an emphasis on detail.

OUR FAVOURITE ROOM

The Gatsby Party Suite, on the 6th floor, is definitely the room you want to stay in. It has a king-size bed and is both modern and sophisticated. The state of the art furniture are combined with the elegant golden details of the bathroom thus creating a unique outcome. Moreover, on the balcony you can dive into the outdoor jacuzzi or relax on the daybed and admire the urban view. Naturally this Suite has direct access to the rooftop and the uncommon living room there! Still, if the one and only Gatsby Party Suite is already booked, the Cool Corner Suite will compensate you accordingly. It is spacious, hence ideal for couples.

BREAKFAST

Breakfast is served both in the small lobby located on the ground floor of the hotel and in the arcade, which is in fact an extension of the Geco Athens Restaurant. It is an à la carte breakfast, which you can choose from the available menu. You will find whatever you want from pancakes to eggs cooked in 7 different ways! Exceptional ingredients aim to elevate your culinary experience.

RESTAURANT-BAR

In December 2024, the hotel expanded into the adjacent arcade and introduced its bar-restaurant, nowadays the well-known Geco Athens Restaurant. It features an open kitchen, allowing guests to watch the chefs as they cook. Executive Chef Panagiotis Flakas and Head Chef Christos Rigas present an à la carte dinner menu, focused on refined flavors and thoughtfully crafted dishes. Geco Athens Restaurant also introduces a modern dining concept, offering dishes designed to be shared, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of flavors without ordering duplicates. At the bar—one of the largest in Athens—you can also enjoy your dinner alongside expertly crafted drinks.This vibrant bar-restaurant is known for its live DJs, creating a lively atmosphere ideal for evenings out, especially when you’re in a festive mood. ROOFTOP

On the sixth floor of the hotel there is an inimitable rooftop. It resembles a homemade but open-air living room with a fireplace and... a fountain! Consequently, it exudes very strongly the homey atmosphere in which a visitor wants to relax, especially if he appreciates the urban view the rooftop offers. But there is a hint: from some points of the rooftop you can take a glimpse of the sacred rock of the Acropolis!

GOOD TO KNOW

The entrance of marble on the ground floor automatically transfers the visitor to the elegant and luxurious atmosphere of the 1930s.
There is a 24-hour gym on the ground floor, about to be expanded.
At The Treatment Suite you can benefit from the Aegeo Spa treatments aiming to relaxation, in a unique room that resembles a real cave.
The cozy meeting room on the ground floor can accommodate up to 12 people, even non-residents, for a meeting or workshop.
Parking on extra cost can be found very closely, at Perikleous str., but there are certainly others within walking distance.

Upper floors are accessible by elevator for disabled visitors.
Former visitors refer to the staff as kind, helpful, excellent, especially regarding their personal requests.

Some rooms have a stand alone bathtub, while others have a walk-in shower in the bathroom.
Some of the Juliet Petit double rooms come with a Juliet balcony.
