Tucked away in the charming neighbourhood of Petralona, Athens, Plants House is more than just a place to stay, it’s a living canvas of design, craftsmanship, and inspiration.

Curated by Rhea Kalo, Plants House blends hospitality with artistry in each detail. From bespoke furniture and hand-sculpted ceramics to everyday tableware and fittings, every item is hand-picked or made locally, and the most important all of it is for sale!
This brand-new apartment offers a living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, two bedrooms (one with sofa), and even a hidden little yard at the back. Situated in a classic Athenian apartment building in one of the few areas that still hold the true sense of community, it’s just a short walk from the metro and the main street, where you’ll find restaurants and buzzing local bars.
At Plants House, staying becomes an immersive experience: you walk into a space that feels like your home, but also like a carefully designed gallery. With each element chosen for its story, its design, and its connection to local craftsmanship, you’re encouraged not just to admire, but to take home a piece of the vision. Whether you’re sipping from a handcrafted cup or relaxing on a custom chair, every moment invites you to imagine that the space could extend beyond your stay.
Here, slow production isn’t a buzz-phrase, it’s a promise. Rhea Kalo collaborates with skilled Greek artisans who believe in authenticity and timeless aesthetics. These pieces aren’t mass-produced. They’re made with care, with roots in local traditions, and with a vision for lasting beauty.
More than just a short stay, The Plants House is a chance to explore, feel, be inspired and yes, to shop. Everything you see: furniture, décor, ceramics, even fixtures the idea is you can bring parts of this place into your own life. Each object tells a story. Each piece offers a way to carry the stay home!
