Investors and entrepreneurs are breathing new life into these forgotten spaces, blending the timeless charm of classical architecture with contemporary comforts. Which of the neoclassical buildings in Athens that have been converted into hotels do you think best retains its historical value?
The best examples are those that manage to keep the soul of the original building alive while introducing contemporary comforts and amenities.
How would you like to see the future of Athens from an architectural perspective?
I believe we should preserve samples of modern architecture. Buildings from the 1940s in Bauhaus style, from working-class apartment blocks to upscale suburban villas, should be protected. Even more modern works from architects of the 1950s and 60s, which marked the reconstruction of Athens, deserve our attention.
