A new era of breakfast culture has arrived in the heart of Athens. Benedict, the internationally celebrated all‑day breakfast concept born in Berlin, officially opened its doors at the Vision Omonia Hotel on 15 December, marking its first location in Greece. We were lucky enough to try it a few days before the opening, after eagerly waiting, and it truly lived up to the hype.
Originally from Berlin, Benedict is here to prove one thing: breakfast is what you eat, not when you eat. All-day breakfast, all-day day-drinking, the Berlin way, now in the heart of Athens. The restaurant serves both classic and creative breakfast dishes any time of day, making every meal an experience.
Located on the ground floor of the stylish Vision Omonia Hotel (Chalkokondyli 36), Benedict offers a cosmopolitan, laid-back vibe. Even though it’s right in the heart of Omonia, you can enjoy your meal without hearing the city’s hustle, and even sip a cocktail while taking it all in.
During our visit, we tried the Croissant Royal (two poached eggs, smoked salmon, and Hollandaise sauce on a Croissant), the Avocado (two poached eggs, fresh avocado, horseradish cream, and Hollandaise sauce with sprouts on toasted whole grain bread), and the classic Shakshuka, slightly spicy with a rich tomato sauce. And of course, the pancakes were not to be missed. We also had the chance to meet Chef Nikolaos Markogiannakis, who shared that all recipes are inspired by Benedict Berlin, with a strong focus on high-quality ingredients and in-house preparations.
Guests of Vision Omonia hotel can now enjoy breakfast from 7:00–11:00 at Benedict Athens, choosing from a specially curated breakfast menu that includes coffee, orange juice, and more.
The restaurant is open daily 7:00–23:00 (kitchen 7:00–15:00), making it perfect for a relaxed brunch, a coffee break, after office drinks or a casual meeting with friends.
