Athens is preparing to welcome a new cultural address on its hospitality map, one that does not simply host guests, but invites them to listen, to feel, and to connect. PERIBANU is the upcoming boutique listening hotel by the visionary team behind Monsieur Didot, a project that promises to carry the same poetic sensibility and refined philosophy into an entirely new realm of experience.

Set to open in summer 2026, just steps from the iconic Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro) in the vibrant neighborhood of Pangrati, PERIBANU is inspired deeply by its surroundings and devoted to music as a living narrative. Its very name, drawn from lyrical verses, hints at storytelling, emotion, and rhythm, a subtle teaser of the experience that awaits.

This is not simply another boutique hotel in Athens. PERIBANU introduces itself as the city’s first boutique listening hotel, dedicated entirely to Greek music in all its expressions: traditional, folk, art song, ancient Greek-inspired sounds, contemporary, experimental, underground, jazz, indie, and beyond. With only six rooms, the hotel is conceived as an intimate sanctuary of sound, a curated ark preserving stories, memories, and the evolving soundscape of Greece.
Each of the six rooms will carry its own name and musical identity, inspired by a specific genre or era of Greek music. These are not isolated themed rooms, but chapters of a larger composition: spaces that connect organically, like movements in a single musical piece that flows seamlessly from one sound world to another. The guest journey is designed to feel immersive and cohesive, offering not just accommodation but a narrative that unfolds through sound, atmosphere, and design.
Music direction and storytelling are curated by musicians Lefteris Moumtzis and Anastasia Dimitriadou, who shape the hotel’s sonic identity with sensitivity and depth. The interiors are designed by Babatchas Design Studio, ensuring that space, materials, and light resonate with the overall concept. Meanwhile, About Creative Agency leads the brand identity and strategy, translating PERIBANU’s philosophy into a distinctive visual and communicative language.
At the heart of the experience lies the lounge: a multifunctional listening space featuring a curated vinyl library and dedicated listening stations. Guests will be able to explore a rich collection of Greek records spanning genres such as traditional, pop, indie, jazz, and more. The space will also host ongoing tributes such as “Record of the Month” or “Artist of the Month,” encouraging discovery and deeper engagement with Greek musical culture.
PERIBANU’s ambition is clear: to become the first hotel in Greece that does not merely offer a stay, but actively introduces, narrates, and celebrates Greek music with care and inspiration. Guests will leave not only with memories of Athens, but with something more intangible and lasting, a new sound, a new way of listening, carried gently in their emotional luggage.
Stay tuned…
