Pets are considered part of the family and many people travel with their pets, especially dogs and cats. In order to accommodate to people’s travel needs, we wanted guests to worry less about finding a hotel that will welcome their pet and instead make their lives worry free. Pets hate to be separated from their owners, especially dogs and owners worry about leaving their pets behind, so instead we wanted to cater to this need. Our team is filled with pet owners, starting with one of the founders Adam Rafeh.
Could you describe the range of amenities and services you offer specifically for pets staying at your hotel?
We are a dog friendly hotel but have had cats drop in as well. We provide them with a comfy bed, two bowls, some treats, and poop bags.
How do you ensure the comfort and safety of both pets and their owners during their stay at your hotel?
It is communicated well in advance when a pet owner is coming in with their pets. We also inform our housekeeping team that there is a dog/cat in the room in order for them to take precaution. Our team is full of pet lovers as mentioned previously, so they make sure they greet the dogs warmly and ensure their comfort in the hotel. Pets deserve to have a great traveler experience and are recognize as equal members of our guest community.
Can you share any memorable experiences or stories involving guests and their pets that highlight the unique atmosphere of your hotel?
OH we have plenty of memorable experience involving our guests and their pets, nothing really stands out, but we have this tradition of taking polaroid pictures of all our guests and that includes pets so we have a fun time trying to get the dogs & cats to sit still for a photo!

The benefits of traveling with pets can go a long way for pet owners. The first benefit for any pet owner is the reduced stress required to figure out who will take care of the pet while away on a trip. The accessibilty to a pet friendly hotel makes this much easier an eliminates the hassle. In addition, pets are part of the family and you don’t want to leave them behind. This allows you to bond further with your pet while you are shared a different experience. Traveling with pets encourages exploration because it will require you to go to parks and find trails to walk your dog.
At Cohort we cater to the needs of pet owners by providing them with all the necessary ameneities required for the comfort of their dogs. For as long as I can recall, we’ve always had an aquarium at home. Taking care of the small fish, feeding them, and watching them grow was something I did in my spare time as a child. Moon and Stars feels like my second home, so one day I decided to install a small aquarium there as well. Currently, it’s just a planted tank, but eventually, we hope to add small fish too! My wife and I have always had positive experiences with cats and dogs, which is why we wanted to extend the opportunity to pet owners to stay at our hotel.

Moon and Stars offers food and water bowls to all of our furry-friends, as well as a place to sleep.
How do you ensure the comfort and safety of both pets and their owners during their stay at your hotel?
As pets are only permitted in the “Cloud 9” room, owners can safely play with their four-legged friends on our terrace. The rooftop is spacious enough for them to feel comfortable. However, they must be mindful of other guests staying in our hotel. This is why we designated the “Cloud 9” room for accommodating pets. Situated on the second floor, both pet owners and other guests can enjoy comfort during their stay in our hotel!
Can you share any memorable experiences or stories involving guests and their pets that highlight the unique atmosphere of your hotel?
We had the opportunity to accommodate a couple with their dog two or three times. It was a memorable experience for both the guests and us! During one stay, they spent more than 5 days with us, and that’s when we truly became attached to their dog. So, when they finally had to check out, we felt genuinely sad.

In our opinion, traveling with a pet has many benefits. Firstly, both the physical and mental health of the owners improve. Playing with pets, attending to their needs, and spending time with them can help soothe nerves and reduce anxiety often experienced while traveling. They say that a dog is the best friend someone can have, and we believe that’s true! Pets can always uplift the mood of their owners and help them forget their worries. Additionally, the physical health of the owner improves, as dogs, for example, require regular morning and evening walks. Moreover, when traveling with a pet, social horizons expand. Owners and pets socialize with strangers and meet many interesting people who also care for pets. Overall, we believe that vacations are more enjoyable when spent with furry friends!
