The building at 3 Adrianou Street in Thissio, Athens, was originally constructed around 1897 as the residence of the Karavasili family, later acquired by the Kampas family. By the early 20th century, it earned renown as one of old Athens’ largest and most exquisite urban houses, playing host to lavish gatherings and cultural events. Its fortunes changed during World War II when it functioned as an Italian barracks and subsequently accommodated vagabonds and beggars. In the following decades, it underwent multiple transformations, serving as a factory for ZAMA zippers and later as the venue for the International Art Center Athenaeum, renowned for hosting musical evenings and competitions dedicated to Maria Callas. Today, following extensive restoration, this historic building has emerged as La Divina hotel.
