One of the initial and crucial challenges was to propose a new, fresh, modern design respecting the history of the building that was erected in 1970 as an office building by the famous Greek architect E.Vourekas.
Inspired by the ancient Athenian wisdom and intellect, the architects transform it into a luxurious city hotel, portraying a contemporary interpretation of Plato’s Academy, whereas offering a blend of the past with the present.
Echoing the spirit of the academy, the hotel embodies the 3 principles of the historic Academy -Science, Art & Philosophy- and brings them to life throughout several of its spaces, in a postmodern way.
The interior is sleek and minimalist, with colourful touches in the hues of black and dark green and contemporary pieces in gold, brass, stone, leather and wooden elements. TIP: In many spaces, you can find quotes inspired by ancient Greece.
