LOCATION
Cohort Koukaki is a new hotel concept situated in the Koukaki district, at the center of the ancient area of the Acropolis of Athens, on a quiet street and close to the most important archaeological sites of Athens, at the same time. The Acropolis Museum, the picturesque neighbourhood of Plaka, and the National Museum of Contemporary Art are with walking distance. The nearest Metro stations are Syngrou/Fix and Akropoli.
DESIGN
Housed in a stunning building built in 1930 the hotel was fully revamped and renovated by Ilias Antoniou, an Athens-based founder of ILAN Architecture Studio. The historic stone walls, distinctive of the structure, have been carefully restored and left exposed. The characteristic façade composed of concrete columns and beams was also restored in order to conserve the original structure of the building, as well as to contribute to the addition of an extra floor. The columns are visible throughout the building and the rooms, reminiscent of past times in a nostalgic yet modern way. In addition, the guest rooms were designed based on the preexisting architecture of the building. As fas as the hotel interior is concerned, the hotel features high ceilings as well as tall windows that let natural light bathe the rooms, giving guests a feeling of freedom. Αs for the furnishings, the majority were custom-made and designed in a way to enhance the presence of the natural materials that are dominant in the space. High-quality textiles and elegant decorative details contrast with the raw, plain style of the building.

The Suite
OUR FAVOURITE ROOM
The deluxe apartment (45 sq m.), which is designed both for short- and long-term stays. This spacious room consists of two spaces and has floor-to-ceiling windows, a sofa bed and a work desk space for those who wish to combine business and leisure. With a dining area and a fully-equipped open kitchen, you can bring your culinary skills to the table! For two people we recommend The Suite (21sq.m) with large windows and high ceilings.
BREAKFAST
Not included, but you can always order your choice of breakfast through the Cohort App and have it delivered to the property or at the comfort of your room. Cohort's in house café, Kre8tive, offers some breakfast options such as bowls, smoothies and some pastries, or you can check out the local cafes. Cohort collaborates with F&B partners in the neighbourhood to provide it's guests with a variety of options to choose from.
FOOD & DRINK
Guests have a variety of options to choose from when it comes to food and drinks. Kre8tive on the ground floor is a co-working café that brings people together through events and activations. A space designed to boost inspiration and fuel creativity, where conversations take place, and ideas come to life. It is a place where the visitors meet the locals. The baristas are here to ensure you get that right kick of the day (every day from 9:00-18:00). Make sure to enjoy some sundown drinks before heading out for the night. In addition to Kre8tive, guests can also order food and drinks through the Cohort App from neighbourhood F&B partners. All orders made through the app will be delivered to Cohort unless you choose pick up.
ECO-FRIENDLY
The Cohort team cares about conscious living and this starts with prioritizing their social responsibility. They are in the process of starting a recycling project in the neighbourhood, where they get surrounding businesses (cafes and restaurants) to recycle. In the rooms, the hotel works towards minimizing/eliminating single use plastics! The use of eco-friendly carton water bottles (Minoa), 100% eco-friendly bamboo toilet paper (Cheeky Panda), biodegradable and recyclable coffee capsules (Taf Coffee) and plantable pencils in the rooms (Sprout World) is a proof of this nature-friendly philosophy. Moreover, in the bathrooms there are dispensers (Olive Era) to reduce the number of small plastic bottled wasted by hotels per year, and all the rooms are equipped with recycling bins, while entry in all rooms is made through automatic locks to avoid the use of plastic cards. Last but not least, the use of LED Lighting for energy efficiency, water efficient fixtures, and energy efficient HVAC system are some other of the energy-saving methods of the hotel.
GOOD TO KNOW
• The 25-square-meter Bunk room, which can accommodate up to four persons, is perfect if you travel with a small group of friends or family.
• All the rooms feature functional kitchenettes, where you can prepare your meal. As far as the apartment is concerned, it features a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen that makes it ideal also for long stays or for those travelling with small children.
• The hotel collaborates with locals to enhance guest experience and bridge the gap between locals and travellers. One of these collaborations is with Trekking Hellas that gives you the opportunity to experience a lot of activities (tours, bike rentals, etc).
• Premium Wellness, a local Greek wellness company founded by Paris Angelika, provides guests with in-house wellness services, such as massage therapies, fitness workouts, yoga, pilates.
• Good news! The hotel is dog-friendly!
• Cohort loves art. The murals in the Kre8tive are made by the Greek Artist Vasilis “Bilos” Manthopoulos, while some of the works of the emerging Greek artists are showcased in the rooms.
