The change is easily visible. There is a boom in boutique hotels. Dozens of buildings in the centre of Athens are surrounded by scaffolding and green netting. However, the reason behind that is not their collapse, as it was during the last decade.
On the contrary, a small construction site is established in each of these structures, witnessing their renovation. But most of these buildings will return having a different role. Mansions of a bygone era, abandoned residences and former commercial spaces are replaced by marvelous boutique hotels that attract every visitor in Athens.
